Santa Dash Dec 3rd 2006

Have you booked into the Santa Dash yet?

If not do so soon entries are filling up fast, see Run Liverpool website for more info

After all the fun and the frolics we had at the Santa Dash last year, we've decided to try and entice as many of you Pink Panthers to take part in the event this year.

This year its going to be even bigger and better, and our santa costumes are going to be pinker than ever!
We now have a 56 seater coach booked for anyone wanting to take part in this event. Partners and families welcome. But it will have to be on a first come first serve basis. - Please inform Diane if you want a place/or places on the coach.

If you are not familiar with this event/and or you want to book your entry log on to Run Liverpool. Its a 5K FUN RUN, very much with the emphasis on FUN. Everyone has to run in a Santa suit (which will be provided with your entry), the aim being to raise money for charity and break the World Record in the number of Sant's running in one place at one time!

Our First Cross Country Race

Clarke Gardens, Liverpool Sun 22nd Oct

This picture doesn't really do justice to the amount of mud caked on my legs at the end of the race, but if I told you how wonderfully smooth and soft they felt after a shower (purely down to the mud treatment) wouldn't you just want to sign up to every cross country race right now!

Still having some doubts - well OK, cross country races arn't for everyone, ask Kath Thow - poor Kath swore blind she didn't want to do any xc races, but still turned up for the team. Well done to Kath and to everyone else who proudly wore their Pink Panther T-shirts and ran their hearts out.

As an extra bonus we even adopted a new recruit, welcome to Denise Jackson who was temted to run for Newburgh Nomads as she loves doing cross country, but liked our kit better, showing what good taste she has.

The team came in a very creditable 7th position and I think we all enjoyed the free butties and tea afterwards as a reward for our efforts.

The A team included;-
Name Position
Paula Gatterll 16
Diane Powell 25
Kath Thow 34
Janet Decamp 50
Denise Jackson 55

Put this date in your diaries
SUN 5TH NOV -11am, the next xc in the series.
Its at beacon country park and it would be great to have lots of pink panthers out there as its our most local race.

New Autumn Long Sleeve Tops

The weather is turning a bit chillier and it will soon be time to be wearing something a little warmer, with this in mind we have ordered some new 'Pink Panther'Kit for the cooler weather.

The tops are long sleeve, black with some pink detail in the same fabric as the short sleeve pink panther T shirts. These are great to wear on their own ( OK with shorts of course!) or with a thin thermal layer underneath for the really cold days.

These are on sale through the club at £15, which is a bargain for another piece of technical kit - and of course it will help you to run faster, effortlessly as you will be so comfortable.

See Diane if you would like to buy one.

Standish Trail Race Sat 14th Oct 2006

As a perfect example of how nice this race is, here we can see Sally, Fiona and Claire having a lovely time, smiling and happy, even whilst running up quite a steep hill!

We had 3 Pink Panthers in this race and they all did very well, although I'm sure Sally and Fiona couldn't have been taking it too seriously as I can never look so happy in the middle of a race!

RESULTS.

Fiona Johnson 12L (3rdV40) - 52m53s
Sally Adams 13L(2ndV35) - 52m53s
Claire Carr 18L 59m12s
