Happy New Year

What a pretty sight we make !

And so far no complaints from the local residents! Look what you missed if you didn't make it for the Christams eve run.

Well Done to everyone for their own running achievements for 2006
Special congratulations to Carol Mawdesely for winning the Pink Panther of the year award. Since joining the club Carol has embodied the spirit of the club, which is to primarily get out there, have some fun running and be pround to wear PINK. Also well done to Fiona Johnson for not only getting round the Snowdon Marathon, but also acheiveing a very respectable time of 4hr 20min.

Thanks to everyone who has been involved in organising the club, 2006 was a great year, I can't wait to see what we get up to in 2007 . So cheers, here's to many more happy runs around Parbold in 2007.

New Year Races and Results

Well we've made a great start to the new year, Pink Panthers have been spotted running all around the North West;-

Runcorn Cross Country - NWXC League Sun 14th Jan

The fact that you have to run up a ski slope in knee deep mud didn't deter our girls - no siree - in fact it was widely reported that this was the best cross country yet!!!
The team consisted of Sally Adams, Kirsty Webster, Diane Powell and new recruit HelenWilson and they did fantastically well to maintain our 7th place in the league.

Garstang 10K

Well done to Claire Carr impressively knocked off more than 2 minutes off her PB (Personal Best), with a great time of 53min. 10sec.

EVENTS COMING UP

ASHURST BEACON RACE Saturday 20th Jan - 12.30pm
Not for the feignt hearted this, but a great event non the less. 6 miles starting and finishing at the Pince William Pub ( at the top of the beacon) . This is a muddy, hilly course but we had 6 runners in it last year, it would be brilliant to have a great turn out again - remember there is a team prize -3 runners needed for a team.

THE NEXT CROSS COUNTRY - Sunday 28th Walton Hall Park Liverpool
3 more willing victims, I mean runners needed !

PARBOLD HILL RACE Saturday 10th Feb - 2pm (I think)
We already have a fantastic group of Panthers training hard for this race. If you are interested see Diane Powell for an entry form - it's cheaper tho pre-enter. Join our merry band of runners
in this race and see you in the pub after. Last one back buys the drinks!
MARSHALLING - This race is organised by our friends at Skem Boundry and they need a total of 38 marshalls - so if you dont want to race - but wouldn't mind having a laugh at how muddy we all are , I mean marshalling, any help would be appreciated. Again give your details to Diane.
