Yvonne Wyke 3hrs 14min 43sec
TOO HOT !!!
The conditions on the day were perfect for spectating, but definately a bit too hot for marathon running, with an average air tempature of 22 degrees , it was reported that the temparture radiating from the road surface was nearer 27 degrees!! Personally I loved the first 10 miles, but I really suffered over the last 8 and then spent 2 hours after finishing unable to stand up!!! Not a pleasant experience.
The crowds and the atmosphere is amazing, but at the end of the day 26 miles is a long way - do it if you dare but dont underestimate the distance!!

Hi Clare here, just to say the marathon conditions were every bit as bad as Yvonne says. I got into difficulties at 9 miles and quickly saw my target time of 4 hours dissappear! By the end finishing was all that was important to me, i really struggled with the conditions and finished in a dissappointing 4h 55min. As i crossed the finish line i vowed never again but after 4 days the pain has gone but the challenge of a sub 4 marathon is still there for me. I think i may choose a different one next time though! Congratulations to everyone who took part, i can certainly say you deserve a medal!
See you all soon xx
