Parbold Hill Race 2008

TEAM PINK PANTHERS

Just a few of our Team Panthers at the finish of the Parbold Hill Race
(Sat 16th Feb)

Well done to everyone who took part it was brilliant to see you all out in the team kit, especially the socks, which caused a big stur amonst the more established clubs, now everyone wants a pair!

We had 11 pink panthers in this race, which was by far the biggest female entry from any one club. It is a shame they only give prizes to the few fastest runners, because if they gave them out for team spirit and commradery (and the best socks!) we would win hands down.

Personally I was so proud to see so many of you tackle this course, some of you for the first time, Kirsty, Tamzin, Jennifer and Tanya. As for the rest of you, what can I say, you are obviously insane enough to have done it before and you came back for more!

Team Panthers
(in no particular order)

***** SOCIAL NIGHT 16th FEB ******

The date - Sat 16th Feb
The Place - The Wayfarers Pub
The Time - 8pm

To celebrate running, or for that matter not running the Parbold Hill race on the 16th Nov (Start Time 2pm register at the Farmers Arms) we've decided a fun night out is long overdue. So calling all panthers, come and have a drink and a chat. Chairs will be provided for those unable to stand up after the grueling efforts of the race !

Just a quick reminder, if any one is not doing the race but is free to marshal or help in any way please let Jayne Woodburn know, they always need lots of help for this event, Thanks.

On A Cold & Windy Sunday Morning;-

The Date - Sun 3rd Feb
The Event - Cross Country no.5
The Place - Walton Park, Liverpool

It was a cold northerly wind that blew our feisty panthers around Walton Park in Liverpool this morning. But not scared off by the wind and mud our troops put up a valiant effort today.

Team Panthers consisted of Claire Carr, Paula Gatterell, Diane Powell, and our newest member Jennifer (I hope she will still be speaking to us next week)

Everyone was quick to get their excuses in before the race, Diane wasn't sure if she would make it round the course, some spurious excuse of having tried boxercise on Friday and she was still having trouble even bending, Paula STILL using the excuse she's just had a baby, and Claire using the excuse she'd had a late night! I don't know girls - come on toughen up!!!

Everyone did really well it was actually quite a small field of female runners so well done for turning out and having a go. A special well done to Jennifer, who really didn't know what she was letting her self in for, Thanks for supporting Team Pink Panthers.
