ANY STORIES TO TELL?

This is your chance to say what you want on the website, it could be you experience at a race, or a training run, it could be comments in how we can improve the club or you could just say what motivates you to run and inspire some other new runners out there.

Just send me an email and say what you want!

To inspire you look on the stories page to see Paula's report on this years Roddlesworth Roller Race.

A VERY WINDY DAY IN SOUTHPORT!!

A few intrepid panthers braved the fiercely strong and bitter wind at the Good Friday Southport Races and and amazingly they all seemed to enjoy themselves.

First off in the 3K Fun Run were Edward Carr, Owen Gatterell, Helen Carr, Alice Adams, Amy wyke and Olivia Powell.

They all did brilliantly, considering the wind was so strong it nearly blew most of them over!

WELL DONE ALL YOU MINI PANTHERS

************************************************
LADIES 4 MILE RACE

Whatever little bit of sun shone on the childrens race, there was none left for the ladies, I suppose we should count our blessings it actually started to hail during the mens race!

WELL DONE to all the panthers who took part, see the results page for your positions and times.
A special mention goes to Nicola Johnson for her first race as a Pink Panther, finishing the 4 miles in a very good 34m 5s, and to Paula Gaterell for being only 1 min down on her time of two years ago and she's just had a baby ! Heaven help us all when she starts training properly! I think you all did brilliantly and once again I was so proud to see you all out there having a go.

PINK PANTHER TRAINING WEEKEND?

THIS IS OPEN FOR DISCUSSION so please read the following idea which was put forward by the committee at a recent meting (18/03/08)

HOW ABOUT A FUN WEEKEND OF RUNNING & SOCIALISING?

One option is to arrange a weekend in the lakes at the same time as the Dewentwater Trail Race to incorporate that event with some much needed lubrication and carbo loading!!!

For those of you who have raced before this is a lovely 4 mile race round Victoria Park in Southport. We already have a few panthers who are going along if you want to get in touch with any of us. So far the list of hopeful runners includes myself(Yvonne), Diane P. Paula G. ClareC and Nicky G.

Remember this is a grand Prix and points make prizes at the end of the year.

If any of you are new to racing and would like to just 'test the water' you could try the 3k fun run that starts at 10am.

This is normally a lovely morning out for all the family so come along and have some fun whilst keeping fit.

ALL SMILES AT THE SPORT RELIEF FUN RUN

Sport Relief Fun Run 1 mile at Hilldale Park. Sat 16th March

This event turned out to be a huge success (we've raised over £80) and highly amusing for participants and spectators alike. Although the Pink Panthers may now be banned from the streets of Hilldale for their outrageous choice of running attire!

Thanks to Diane Powell for organising the whole mad affair and to all of you for your donations towards sport relief and for your enthusiasm for the event. Rumour has it, that some members would like this type of event to be their weekly run, but I'm not sure the residents of Hilldale and Parbold could take it! Anyway watch this space for more mad cap ideas. Also more photos to follow!!!!!

SUMMER GRAND PRIX 2008

For details of all the races in this years Grand Prix see the Grand Prix page. 2 events have already been well attended, and by all accounts thoroughly enjoyed. So well done everyone for getting on your trainers and having a go. There's still lots more brill races to have a go at, and rember points make prizes!

SPORT RELIEF FUN RUN

Parbold Pink Panthers Presents our version of the sport relief 1 mile

SAT 15th MARCH

WHERE YOU NEED TO BE - the shops in Parbold

WHEN YOU NEED TO BE THERE - 8.30am as usual

WHAT YOU NEED TO BRING - an extra HAT!
an extra BRA of frilly Top!
a pair of Pyjama Bottoms or Jogging Bottoms!
£2 for Sport relief

WHY THE EXTRA KIT ?- believe me, you don't need to know yet, just be there, have fun, get fit and raise a bit for cash for a good cause. The more that turn up, the more fun we'll have and the more money we will raise. Believe me even if you havent run for a year you will be fine for this one off event.

In the PINK at the Roddlesworth Roller

Sun 9th March

3 Panthers set out on adventure around Roddlesworth resevoir on a lovely sunny sunday morning and had a lovely time at this trail 10K.

See RESULTS PAGE.

Also to follow a report of the event by Paula Gaterell.

TRAFFORD 10K
Also Sun 9th March

This is a notoriously popular fast course 10K. Which is attractive if you are looking for a PB but a bit off putting as it draws an incredibly high standard out. (The first 4 men were under 30min, ad the first 3 women were under 35min!!

Also see results page.
