Childrens Race/Family Fun Run

At the AGM it was decided that we would have a children's race/ family fun run prior to Christmas, with the annual awards ceremony to be held seperatley sometime in March (at the end of the winter cross country season). Unfortunately due to unforseen circumstances we cannot hold the childrens race on the 14th dec as originally planned, so the committee decided that we will hopefully do something in the spring ( maybe an easter egg hunt or something?)

ASHURST BEACON CROSS COUNTRY

SEE Results page for individual results.

THANKYOU to EVERYONE who put themselves out there on what was a horrible wet and windy Sunday morning.
MUDDY doesn't come anywhere near to describing the conditions underfoot! I think we all felt like we had tackled an army assault course at the end of the race, there was deep mud, sloppy mud, sticky mud and hills with .. mud!

Well done to everyone, a special mention to Janine Vincent and Steph Poole as this was their first ever cross country race and they both did brilliantly and even said the had enjoyed it!
TEAM EFFORT - our first 3 girls over the line all ran their socks off and we actually came in as 5th team (out of 8), beating Skem Boundary by a slim 2 points. There is some good friendly competition brewing there.

SO give yourselves a pat on the back and have a nice long bath the next cross country is coming up very soon - on Sun 7th Dec (time 11.30am)

WESHAM 10K
Sat 29th Nov

This had to be the most miserable day to be outside. IT was cold (-3 with a high of -1), It was foggy and it was a flat road 10K, no lovely hills with nice views, but great pb potential.

Important dates for your diary

We have some very important events coming up soon and EVERYONE is welcome

The only thing is you do need to purchase the tickets in advance, contact Nicky on 464915

AGM - WED 19th Nov
8pm
Farmers Arms Hilldale

I really want to stress this meeting is for the whole club, and everyone is welcome to come along.
We do have to do all the formal bits and bobs like chairmans report and treasurers report but this is also your chance to add your opinions and thoughts. I'm really proud to say that our merry band of runners has grown steadily over the past 3 years, so hopefully we are doing something right, but if theres anything we could improve on this is your chance to have your say.

PINK PANTHER JACKETS also we are looking into club jackets, that can keep you nice and cosy through the lovely winter months.
I am hoping to have 2 to chose from which you will be able to see and try (on Sat 15th nov) and at the AGM with a view to putting in an order by THUR 20th Nov. - Price to be confirmed - It could be an early Christams present. Not only will this be a great piece of kit I have managed to negotiate some really good prices so get your name down quick !

Cross Country Race 1 - Clarke Gardens

MUD MUD GLORIOUS MUD!

Sun 26th October 2008

The first cross country got off in a blur of PINK as we had 10 PINK PANTHERS turn up for this race!! It was absolutely fantastic to see such a good turn out. Unfortunately 2 of our runners can't count yet and Diane didn't quite feel up to racing on the day, but did do a very good job of chauffering round Liverpool in a quest to find our butties!

Fortunately finding your way round the course was a lot easier than finding the way to the elusive butties - all you had to do was follow the mud. It felt knee deep at times and was hard work, but everyone did really well and we came home as a team in a very respectable 5th place (out of 8 female teams.) SEE RESULTS page for names and positions.
