THE GREAT NORTH RUN 2009

(WITH A FEW EXTRAS - CAN YOU SPOT THE ROGUE PANTHERS?

After months of hard training Diane & Nicki let it all slide on the night before the big run!deciding this was the way to go Ann Gregory quickly followed suit.

Fortunately the rest of the Pink Panthers remained focused on the task in hand and continued with their serious pre-race preparation;-


I have to admit painting my nails has ever been part of my training plan before, but this is obviously the vital ingredient I've missed out on as I went on to do my best time for this course the next day!


I think I speak for us all when I say it was a fabulous weekend, we all had such a good laugh and the run was quite good too (although a bit too hilly,- and definitely hillier than last year!)

I would like to say a couple of really big THANKYOU's to

• ANN GREGORY for organising our places with the PERCY HEDLEY FOUNDATION, who we were raising money for. (the Percy Hedley team were brilliant at trying to put us back together at the end of the race with free massages, sandwiches and copious quantities of tea.
• Also thanks to ANN for booking the restaurant where we had a lovley pre race meal.
• THANKYOU to ANDY for driving the mini bus and generally looking after a bunch of histerical women!
• THANKYOU to PAULA GATERELL for getting the names printed on our tops - it was brilliant to be encouraged all the way along that difficult 13 mile course. Especially the last mile which actually I think should be remeasured , because I'm sure it was more like 3!

FINALLY

WELL DONE TO EVERYONE WHO TOOK PART, there were many who were doing a half Marathon for the first time. This is a massive achievment, I'm very proud of you all - so whats it to be for the next challenge?! .....
